About WOMwiz
WOMwiz is the WOMbeat! blog devoted to helping small and mid-sized businesses generatie more WOM (or Word of Mouth). Ask any business owner what their most effective form of advertising is, and they unanimously tell you “word of mouth”.
So why me? My name is Linda Olson, and I am one of the founders of WOMbeat! – the world’s first “WOM recommendation engine” for local businesses. My co-founder and I have over 20 years of experience with local business advertising in the print industry, and we know a little something about what business owners are looking for.
Most forms of print advertising are losing effectiveness, so business owners are looking for alternatives – from billboards to bus benches to car magnets. The internet looks interesting, but where to start? MySpace? Facebook? Anyone can throw up a website, but how should a business owner use it drive more repeat business or, better yet, attract great new business? Should business owners be forced to navigate the complicated world of Google AdWords, SEO, and PPC’s?
The answer is, as always, it depends…sorry, but it’s true.
However, none of these options are worth one minute of time or one dime unless they can help a business drive up revenue!
I will use this blog to help clear up the confusion for business owners everywhere about how to choose effective marketing or advertising options and, even more importantly, generate more WOM about their business.
Stay tuned…More to come!

H,
Have you heard about In-Calendar Marketing?
As someone influential in the online marketing blogosphere, I want to tell you about a new calendar based permission marketing service, Calgoo In-Calendar Marketing. It has similarities with email marketing, but the delivery is to electronic calendars like Outlook Calendar, Google Calendar, and Apple iCal.
Our platform allows marketers with an existing loyal customer base to promote time-based products and services via calendars, and is completely opt-in! For example, a retailer sends a notice of a weekend sale with a coupon or a travel supplier creates live calendar feeds with last minute travel deals…
